Bullet id
« on: August 09, 2024, 06:08:27 PM »
Have a bullet Id question, and was told this site would be a good choice for getting an answer. Diameter is .573-.579, length 1.01?, and wt is 511 grains. Dug in the midst of ~ 20 other period bullets and other relics. When found, bullet had black powder in the base. Found in western chesterfield co va. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your perspective) it does mean those folks down the road from Durham. I hope my affiliation doesn?t prevent your assistance with the question.

Sorry, not 100% sure how to get multiple pics on one posting. Thought I had done so previously, but apparently I did not.

Looks like .58 cal 3 ring Minnie that someone blunted the nose on.
