with forum being a little slow, saw this 4 3/4" French 14th century iron cannon ball, in the photo archives of of the metropolitan museum and thought I would share

         super cool and interesting piece !!    I have a Rev war 'light ball' or 'fireball'  fired  from an 8 inch mortar recovered at Yorktown.   One of my rarest and most coveted pieces

I've never seen one of those before.  Very neat design.  I've seen Dave's fireball.  It is a cool piece.
