Fort Wagner.
« on: July 14, 2016, 10:55:54 AM »
I have a few questions. Is Fort Wagner assessable? Is it park or other type protected property? Meaning is metal detectors forbidden? My common sense sais it is protected, My wishful thinking hopes that they are not forbidden. They do bad things to cops that go to jail so I don't want to make any mistakes.

to get a hobby license contact, "Sport Diver Archaeology Management Program" at 843 762 6105 or sdamp@sc.edu. They are very nice people and will explain all to you. South Carolina understands that they don't have the resources to excavate all cultural resources and invite the public to help providing they report all finds and conserve them. They get first refusal and you keep the rest. Good luck
