Very nice, Darrell.  I think I see spanner holes in the fuse though and a Hotchkiss fuse adapter has a slot across the top like this one

I sort of put a confederate timer fuse in it but I'll make the next ones with the slots. Thanks for the info Mike.

Digger,
Can you tell us how you made it?

John,
It is made from solid wood turned on a 50+ year old Craftsman lathe. I then made a templet/holder so I can use my router to cut the flame grooves in the side. I then sand and paint matching colors and clear coat the entire shell. I currently also make Selma's, Schenkl's, Parrott's, Read's, Archer's, Ketchum's, Brook's and Dyer's. It's a lot of fun trying to make different ones and it gives me something to do when it's too hot outside.

sorry I was late getting back to you,
I think you do a fantastic job on your lathe.  Just don't let anyone pick it up and they will never know.
I once made a plaster cast of a 10pdr schenkl with a perc fuze.  Then I poured regujlar ceramic slip into the molde.  cleaned up the green ware, fired it and painted it flat black with bronze fze.
I then made them into two matching night lights with shades.
Tom Dickey glanced at them and told me what a waste of good Schenkls. :)

Thanks for the great complement John. I try to do my best on them. Having no shells to physically get info on, I rely on photos and info from the internet to build from.
