It's been a very long time since I have posted anything on the boards here, but just wanted to stop by and say hello. A couple of emails from Bill Lockridge got me to thinking about the site, so I clicked in. I see a lot of "old-timers" are still hanging around, and some new names I don't recognize..... so hello to all.
I've not been detecting near as much as I need to be, but still go occasionally.... haven't made any big finds in a long time, which is maybe the reason I don't go as much. That, and a new hobby I started. I began making walking canes and staffs about a year and a half ago. Then my wife got me a decent set of carving knives and gouges about a year ago and told me to "Get to carving!" The audacity of some women!
A custom knife maker heard about some of my carvings and contacted me to carve some knife handles for him, so I've been giving that a shot. I think I've done four handles now.... a Canebrake Rattler, a Copperhead, a Cottonmouth and a Western Diamondback. I'll try to include some pics of one if I can remember how.
But mainly just wanted to stop in and say hello to the greatest bunch on leadheads and artillery specialists in the world. I hope that God is blessing you all!
