Title: Bullet Identification??
Post by: 3b2ginva on October 02, 2020, 09:27:50 PM
Hello.  I dug this bullet today from a Civil War site in Virginia.  It was about a foot deep and has a nice white patina. Looks like some type of shotgun slug.   It is about a .69 caliber  Can anyone help identify?   Is it Civil War?  Thank you.

It’s a modern shotgun slug. Not CW.

Thank you for the input.  Base and patina seem different than modern day shotgun slugs.  Maybe a much older one? Other than the nessler slugs, what type were used in Civil War/mid-late 1800s shotguns?
