I find myself looking at this from time to time and thought I would share it with others who have sniffed too much lead:

Thanks for the link. I will make a point of looking for those that are near me. I've seen the Baltimore tower, but hadn't noticed the one in Philadelphia.

The Thomas Sparks tower is South Phila, sticks up just on the west side of I-95.  Our forum member Dave Slemmer must drive past every day to work!

The New River tower is a park and is interesting...built into side of hill.  Dean, Tom Henrique, and I got a tour of that one on our way to the Nashville relic show one year.

I do drive past it everyday on the way to work at the Navy Yard. (Tastykake)  I lived down the street from the Merchant's Shot tower in Baltimore back in 79-80.
Later,
Dave Slemmer

Been to the New River/Fort Chiswell area shot tower in VA. many times.  A lovely area.  A find it amazing that someone would build such a structure just to drop molten lead to make shot.

Somewhere in my Reno Air Race Photo files from 4 or 5 years ago I have a photo of a shot tower out in east Carson City, NV.  It is near one of the old Virginia & Truckee RR Stations and Pony Express stops.  For some of you it would likely be of greater interest that it is also located a few hundred yards from the world famous Bunny Ranch.  (and no, I don't have any idea!).

kinda phallic having a shot tower next to the Bunny Ranch !!  I guess it sorta is a landmark to the ranch !!
