I'll try to get pictures of the other "S" bases tomorrow.  I am whipped from working on a boat trailer today.  This is fishing time, although relics are not too far out of mind.
These are random bullets from the Cape Fear, NC area.

What are the two 2-ringers in the middle?

When I found these, I asked Mac Mason what they were.  I think he conjured up the term "Carolina Enfield"  It is #175A in T&T.  I have two- one still has a wooden plug.

I sure would like to know more about the "Carolina Enfield."

I'm familiar with the bullet, but not the Carolina connection.

They are also shown in Round Ball to Rimfire 4 as figure number 378.

I know of only a few more of these two ring bullets found in the same camp in the Wilmington area.  I've hunted many other areas of NC and SC without noting any other of these bullets.  i do not see any Carolina connection.

The two in my collection both came from North GA.

Great bullets!

I've been a lurker for quite some time, but I never realized how many forum members on here are from Louisiana as well.

I'll have to post some of my collection before long.

Wes,
I am from Southeastern Louisiana/St Tammany Parish to be exact.
Its a great place to live, and I love my proximity to the Baton Rouge/ Port Hudson and Mobile areas. There's so much history around, and I hope that more people will take an active interest in it in the years to come. At 36 I feel that interest in history and collecting artifacts from this era is becoming obsolete.

I am going to post some pictures this week. Prussians and enfield have piqued my collecting interests as of late.

Looking forward to seeing examples from your collection.  The Trans-MS produces some weird bullets!!

When you post them, please start a new thread.  We've really been rambling with this one.

Thanks.

Wes
