.72 Wishing Well Bullet MM 323
« on: September 25, 2014, 11:37:21 PM »
Has the BIG .72 caliber foreign import bullet, MM 323, been recovered anywhere else besides the Savannah Wishing Well? If so, where?

I don't know where it was found, but Dean has one in his collection (soon to be available at auction) that was definitely dug elsewhere.  It has a beautiful white patina unlike the gray, crusty bullets from the well.

I am also curious on dig locations of this bullet because you don't see many with a patina.

Go to the auction listing and look at lot #1001 to see the specimen from Dean.

Thanks for sharing Jim. I've seen pics of others with a patina, but never one with a known dig location. I heard some came out of Mobile Bay too, but generally look worse than the Wishing Well ones.
