I attempted the upgrade of the forum software today but it failed and I had to back it out. It turns out the forum software needs a newer version of some infrastructure software so I have to request the ISP to install that. I should be able to upgrade again in the next few days. Sorry for any inconvenience due to downtime but it should not be down long. Thanks.

You both have always put your heart into this and we appreciate it.

Thanks Carl and Mike!

Glad to do it. The maintenance and admin stuff seem to get put on the back burner for far too long. More to come....

OK, while it took much longer than expected the forum upgrade has been done. In short to upgrade the forum software with the latest fixes and security code we had to move to a new server. Since the forum is run as part of our BulletAndShell.com site it also had to migrate to the new server. The web hosting company wasn't as responsive as I'd like and it took a while to get some security settings correct but perseverance paid off. If you see any issues, let me know.
Notice the color of the forum has changed. This is the default look and color. I had applied a theme to the old to give it that look similar to my website but that did not work with the new forum release so I'll need to spend some time looking for one I like. So don't be surprised if it looks different again!

Carl, I will add my thanks to you and to Mike for what has to be a labor of love. Through this forum, I've met new friends, viewed some incredible relics, and learned so much.

Unless I am missing it there is no link to your main sales site on the forum like there was in the past.

Very glad to do it. Mike and I have gotten numerous returns on our efforts mostly through the new friends we've made. I've also learned a great deal from y'all and look forward to more friends and learning.

That is correct. I plan to work on that this week. I was traveling at a customer site all week doing an install and unable to work on the forum. Right now the new forum is the 'out of the box' version but I hope in the next few weeks to get it customized. Since the old theme doesn't work I have to figure out where in the new code it does the various pieces and parts plus it has been years since I installed the old theme.
Jay: Hope you don't mind me merging your topic to the forum upgrade post since your question was directly related. Thanks.
