What is this. Really doesn't look like any caltrop I have seen or held. Any info, speculation or educated guess would be helpful at this Point. I will attempt to add pictures of which I have failed miserably in the past. That's why I haven't tried in years. If I figure out how to add pictures, Lord help yall. (http://)

Ok, I have figured out pictures. Yall in so much trouble now. Prepare for sheer boredome of every new artifact I get. LOL I am kidding.

Also looks to be caltrop to me but I've not looked at them closely and only seen them at shows and in pictures. And just because someone has something at a show labeled as something doesn't mean it is. But it looks like it could be one for sure if tall enough.
Post away!!!

I did a quick look in Google for caltrop pics and didn't see anything that thick and heavy. They tended to be longer and more pointed, even the antique ones.

Thank you

I believe Sir Pete George had told me they were used in commercial ceramics casting to hold or separate items being heated in a kiln. I hope I am correct in this memory, it was over a decade ago we spoke about this.... you out there Pete ???? Please correct me if I'm wrong, misquoting PG has it's consequences !!
