There were only 8 6pdr smoothbores captured in the Mobile Defenses and Lumsden's Battery, which was a unit of the Alabama Light Artillery, had 3 of them at the Battle of Spanish Fort. He complained of their inadequacy, referring to them as "pop-guns." This most likely was fired from Lumsden's Battery.
