Description:
Any type of 10 pounder Parrott bolt is uncommon at best and fortunately a recent collection we acquired had a selection of these small Parrott bolts in it. I've sold two 10 pounder Parrott flat top bolts on this site in the last two weeks. Both had iron sabots which is the more common style of this uncommon projectile. This offering is for a flat top Parrott bolt with a brass Type III sabot.

The iron on this projectiles is real nice. It is very smooth with only a light peppering from the ground action. The bottom is clean and flat with no crud in the cracks around the sabot. The sabot is the Type III style and is not pulled on any side. The shell might have been fired but sabot shows no signs of rifling. As such it is either a dropped round or the gun that fired it was worn out so the sabot didn't engage the rifling. The brass sabot has a nice dark patina. The shell is coated but not with polyurethane. It was preserved by coating with Bri-Wax furniture bee's wax. If the buyer would like I can give it some TLC and coat it with some polyurethane.

Projectile is inert, cleaned and coated.
