Description:
These baby Hotchkiss shells don't come up much and often aren't in the best of condition. Few if any shells can boast the variety of calibers as the Hotchkiss and this is an example of their variety. This shell is made for the small 2.6" Wiard gun and was reportedly found in Southern, Alabama.
This is a very nice example. The irons hows some ground action but is overall very solid and good with a nice clean fuse hole. The cup has a good bit of the cast in patent date visible. The lead sabot has some even whiteness of patine and is not pulled like many Hotchkiss shells. It is just a good example of a hard to get shell. The last image is it alongside a 3" Hotchkiss to show size comparison.
Shell is inert, cleaned and coated.
