Description:This US 11-inch shell was recovered from Charleston Harbor. It was put it through electrolysis from August 16, 2003 until October 2004. So it has been out of electrolysis for about 16 years and today is very sound - no flaking or cracking whatsoever. It has a very minimum spots where it was flaked when recovered but now is very stable and displays very well.

The water cap fuse that is was found with is included. I cannot make out any of the letters or numbers on it due to the electrolytic action. The threads are excellent and it screws into the shell very easily. It could easily be replaced with one you can read if so desired.
