True:  The bovine are the rangers and the monuments are made of cypress and housed in the period " dog trot house."   When R. J. viewed the battlefield from this site he stirred up a huge bee hive in the cedar tree next to him and we were so lucky to get away     coonboy

Yep, I was looking onto the field & imagining the lay of the land back during the battle & oblivious to the bees starting to move vigorously about a large cedar tree where it was obvious their hive was located.  Luckily, Terry pointed this out to me & we backed away without incident.  It would have been tough to explain to the private landowner why Terry & I would be running hollering & screaming through his fence & on the battlefield with our arms flailing & swatting our heads & backs! :)
