Vicksburg Oddity
« on: December 22, 2012, 05:57:45 PM »
I found this interesting concretion at Vicksburg last weekend on private property.
It is a .69 cal bullet concreted to a square nail, a .22 cal bullet and a small piece of lead. Freak of nature or could be a form of experimental ammunition. I'll let the experts decide!

Pretty wild & cool piece John, I'll bet that gave off an odd reading on your detector!

Having done a bit of hunting in that area I'd say it looks to me like one of those finds found in the wash area at the bottom of a gully.  There is an incredible amount of trash in Vicksburg and it can really collect in those ravine bottoms.  Pretty neat to have it all concreted together.  Thanks for sharing.
Best,
Carl
