Mega Parrott

Sounds like a transformer character, but this is a rare fuse adapter I dug out today for a fellow doing some research.  I know most of even this crowd don't get excited about these, but I still thought I'd share it with my BFFs here:

It is the exact one as shown on Jones, top of page 78.  I unscrewed it from my 60pdr Parrott case shot shell.

Attached are some pictures.

Dimensions are:

Head flange diameter: 1.85:
Diameter at threads: 1.50”
Threads per inch: 12
Length: 2.36”
Weight: 13.12 ounces

OK, here is the shell it unscrewed from which I think I showed before:

"White metal" whatever that is.  Like in most other Parrott fuses.  Not brass

You should sell it.  It's got a crack on the flange and orange paint splattered on it.  I'll be glad to relieve you of it.   ;D
Best,
Carl

So you're the guy who unscrews all the fuses from his shells!   :D

I have noticed that if you click on the 'red' image name that the original size will pop up.
Makes for easier viewing.
