Artillery bookend

Interesting auction on eBay - not mine. I might bid on it if no one else wants it - if you do, just speak up.

The shells appear to be early-1940s US 37MM Gun base-fuzed shells.  I am reasonably sure they are not APC (Solid-Shot) because that kind has a sharply-pointed aluminum "windshield" which covers most of its nose.

I think Bart (John D. Bartleson Jr.) is more knowledgeable about 20th-Century artillery projectiles than I am.  Perhaps he can shed some light on their ID if I am incorrect.

Regards,
Pete

Yep, 37mm Hotchkiss shells, based fuzed.
