Confederate Borman fuse part

We have been finding these little copper disks at Selma and we have finally figured out what they are. They are inserts for the Borman fuse made at Selma.

Here are a couple fuses with the copper disks. Very hard to find them still on the fuse.  The one with the cross slits like Steve's also came from the river in Selma and is one of the high lip CS Bormanns.   Could well be that type copper disk only went on the high lip variety or any type from Selma.  Steve:  Is the example in your image a high lip style?
