Help in identifying shell from frag found
« on: April 01, 2023, 11:16:58 PM »
The shell frag was found in an area where both Union and Confederate projectiles were impacting. It was in a field which accounts for its degraded condition. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello.   Hard to say from the pics.  If that is a bourrelet as Ripcon asks then it would be narrowed down a good bit.  Also the fuse hole still contains crud but if you could get a thread count and approximate diameter that would go a long way to narrowing down what it might be too.
Best,
Carl
