I dug a canister plate last week that measures 3.6 inches in diameter. Would this have gone to a 6 pounder or some other artillery piece?

6pdr smoothbore or 20pdr Parrott rifle. Do you know what types of guns were there?

There were actually both 6 pounder smoothbores and 20 Pounder Parrotts on the same field. So, it could be from either one.
