Tennessee sabot for a rifled 24 lb'er
« on: November 21, 2021, 09:43:07 AM »
rare as hens teeth, but I have been looking for a Tennessee type 1 sabot for a rifled  24 lb'er shell, about 5.75 inch diameter.  This is the brass sabot with the 3 holes in it, as the anti rotation  'studs' are cast into the shell....   I have a gorgeous shell, but I'd like to finish it off with the sabot.     Jack's book says they are found basically along the James River ....    How about it Virginia guys, got one ??!!

I think I may have this sabot, but as you know my stuff is packed up.  If I do, I'd be willing to trade it for a different one that would fit one of my needy shells.  Probably be Springtime before I am unpacked.

Ronnie has the type II version of this sabot that I need...
