Carved Bullet
« on: September 06, 2020, 11:38:21 PM »
A couple months back I bought a couple thousand bulk bullets.  There were both fired and drops in the groups.  As I went through them to sort by fired and dropped and type I would occasionally find a carved bullet.   Most were non-de-script and only deemed carved by virtue of knife marks on them.  But a couple were really cool at least to me.  This is my favorite one.  It appears to be a 58 cal made to resemble a pine cone.  You can't tell clearly due to the angle of my picture but it has a serrated bottom edge.  I don't actively collect carved bullets but when I see a neat one like this I keep it.

Thanks y'all.  Here is another one that is kind of cool.  Looks to be a chess piece possibly.  Nice artsy piece.
Best,
Carl

Here’s one I bought on Facebook. The guy I bought it from found it at Cold Harbor when he got a call to remove a tree that had been knocked down during a storm. He made a deal With the home owner to remove the tree if he could metal detect the property. He found it in the root ball of the tree.
