 Yeah, eBay not the place to buy Confederate plates.   Agreed,  pay some extra from a legit dealer and sleep well at night.

Confederate plates seems to be one of the most counterfeit item in Civil War collecting.   Since I own zero Confederate belt plates I wouldn't know where to begin.   I agree with the others, tread carefully when purchasing one.   Wasn't it pointed out that even Steve Mullinax was fooled?  Considering what a prolific digger he was and the sheer amount of relics he handled that doesn't bode well for novices like myself.
