Bullet ID help needed....

Hi, I'm a new member on this site and this is my first post. I dig most of my own bullets however I recently bought a fairly large collection and am stumped on a few. This is one. I have my own thoughts on it but would like to hear what you all think. Thank you!

It's definitely not Civil War. To my old eyes it looks to be a hair over .45 and I suspect it is from a post was cartridge and possibly foreign. But that's just my opinion.

Thanks for the info Tom, I suspected post war also esp. when I saw the 4 rings, length and smaller caliber.
