Found cannonball
« on: September 18, 2019, 08:09:28 PM »
Hi, I found the cannonball I have 33 years ago off of the beaches of Panama city Beach Florida about 500 yard off of the beach in some sand dunes. It weighs 45.6 pounds. Its completely round. Can anyone tell me where or who it might be from and how old it might be!? Thanks, Dave.

we would like to see a picture and of course precise measurements is what is really needed.

In addition to what SpeedEnforcer asks, you might also look at that incredible website:
    http://www.bulletandshell.com/
and in the menu area on the left side is a link for "How to ID a Cannon Ball".  I point you to the website because there are other links to help with other types of ID such as bullets,  modern artillery, etc.
Best,
Carl
