yeah anybody that watches old Sea Hunt episodes knows that water does not compress and an explosion underwater will transfer shock just like hitting a line of balls on a pool table and the last ball moves. Being in close proximity to the blast would subject you to the concussion which would incapacitate you and there you go, the boat sinks and fills up with water and you die. One of the port holes was broke, possibly by the guys on the Housatonic shooting at it so when it sank it wouldn't be long before it was flooded. I've been diving in the river and had freighters go by that were so loud I had to come up, and you couldn't hear a thing out of the water. I remember one that had a squealing bearing that was so loud it hurt my ears but with my head out of the water you didn't hear it. I always wondered if they made it to where they were going without problems.
