John D Bartleson

CarlS:
It was sad news indeed to hear today of John's passing.  After many years of being involved in the area of artillery he still had a youthful enthusiasm when discussing or investigating some questions.  His connections spanned the globe and he very often seemed to know someone who had the answer when he uncommonly didn't.   The radiograph book he authored while in the Navy was my first artillery book.  I bought it while in high school and have often referred to it many times over the years.  He's never hesitated to answer an email or phone call to assist with some obscure question I've sent his way.  And of course as the readers of this forum know he was a prolific contributor exceeded only by Mike.    He is a friend and resource that will be missed.
