Question on cannon ball molds
« on: June 26, 2016, 03:11:47 PM »
I have these 24 pounder shell molds manufactured by Paulson Brothers in the 80's.  They include the inserts to make hollow shells that are exactly sized for 24pdr guns.  They came with my 24lbr Coehorn Mortar.  I have never used them and probably never will.  I thought there might be some reenactors here, or someone who knows reenactors, or anyone who can help me figure out what these are worth.  Paulson brothers no longer offer them and I can't find anything similar for comparison to determine value.  The 3rd photo depict a couple of hollow shells (zinc) that were made with these molds.  Very cool item but also VERY heavy and something that someone should be using.  I am not trying to sell these here, just trying to obtain info on value.  Thanks in advance for any help.
