Cool Frag
« on: February 10, 2015, 12:24:23 AM »
At the Dalton Show I picked up a very cool polygonal cavity frag.  It is described in the 1993 Dickey George book on page 30 as the 4th type.  A line drawing can be found on page 528 of the same book.  This is from the very rare type of 12-lber CS Bormann that had the lines of weakness in the core to be composed of 2 squares, 8 triangles, and 8 rectangles.  Hopefully the image is clear enough that you can make out that my frag is composed of one triangle and one rectangle.  Also across the middle of the rectangle can be seen the seam left on the sand core by it's mold.  I was very happy to come across this.
