New Member Registration -- New Registrants Please Read
« on: June 12, 2011, 02:36:08 PM »
For folks considering registering so they can view pictures on the site and engage actively, please send Carl or me a note when you register.  Please still go through the normal process for registering but take the added step of letting us know (include your screen name please).  Our eMail addresses are listed off the www.bulletandshell.com parent page for this site.

We are currently getting a high volume of submissions from automated systems trying to register presumably so they can post Viagara ads or cause other sorts of mischief.  To date we've avoided that plague and I'd rather not have to take time to research every potential member before deciding to nuke the vast majority which represent one of the scourges of the internet.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Spammers are scum. Try to have a nice site, they will try to ruin it.

Yesterday we had none pending.  I just deleted 57 and none appeared to be valid.  Rather amazing.  It seems everyone wants to be in our forum!   ;D
Best,
Carl

I deleted 118 yesterday.  Apparently out of all 118, I nuked one legitimate fellow so hopefully he'll re-register and follow the protocol of sending us an eMail at the same time so he can be registered.

Bump

Folks, the robo registrars continue to apply 30+ times a day.  New registrants, please use a normal screen name and eMail one of us if you want to register.  This isn't a secret society with high barriers to entry, but none of us want a bunch of spammers filling up our site.  To date it has been free of that crud and hopefully we can keep it so with everyone's cooperation.

Thanks,

Mike

Please read this as we have recently had several folks register.  If we cannot verify your identity through the manual means we use, we will probably not register you so help us out by contacting us directly in addition to registering through the forum software.
