Auction of skull cancelled. To be returned to Gettysburg

Following protests, the planned auction of a skull found at Gettysburg that is possibly of a Civil War soldier has been cancelled and is to be returned to Gettysburg for possible burial. Details at:

This was mentioned at our relic club meeting last night.  There was an amazing look of disbelief across the room as people heard it.  It is amazing to me that a business did not have all kinds of flags go up when the idea of auctioning off the remains of a person were considered.  I am quite a bit surprised that without some sort of medical permit that the US allows the sale of body parts.
