New Guy
« on: May 13, 2014, 08:48:37 PM »
Just want to introduce myself. My name is Roy Anderson and I came across this site recently searching information on a bullet, glad I did. I have had an avid interest in the Civil War since I was in grade school and have been collecting bullets on and off since then as well. My other main interest is bayonets, particularly U.S. and those used in the Civil War.

I just want to say that the amount of information shared here is amazing and I look forward to contributing in the future.

Welcome to the group Roy.  We need more lead collectors here to keep Mike and Carl on their toes!

Welcome.  We are always happy to have another person of common interest join our fold.  I think you'll find this place to be useful and develop a few friends along the way too!   I know I have developed quite a few and met some very interesting people.

While our main focus is lead and iron projectiles we do discuss a variety of things from time to time.  Of note is one of our members is an avid collector of bayonets as I learn when meeting him at the Mansfield Show.  I haven't seen the collection but it sounds like he's got most of the known ones.  I'll let him speak up.
Best,
Carl

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Carl, my father was a pretty big bayonet collector and involved with the Society of American Bayonet Collectors (SABC), he probably knew of him. As of now, i'm trying to track down those that he did not have which is mainly confederate items.
