Ft. Monroe Copper Theft
« on: August 29, 2013, 04:50:07 PM »
All -

There are worms, roaches, rats and low life scum bags everywhere.  Where were the official/professional "Keepers of Our History" when all this crap was happening??? For far too many of our Parks Service employees it (their work) is little more than a "government job".  Parks property should be inspected each and every day.  If the facilities had been properly supervised this kind of crap would not have happened, or at least not to half the buildings on the property.  If they find the buyer(s) then they, too, should go to prison - for a long long time.

Sounds like a lot of pounds of copper.  One would think it wouldn't be that hard to track down.  There can't be that many recycling places.
Best,
Carl

Don't be so quick to blame the Park Service.  Only a portion of the former base is under their control. No where does the article state that the theft occurred on the National Monument grounds.
