Nice articles Mike.  Thanks for posting.  On the 2nd one I find it amazing that someone would disarm one by hand when "A half-dozen people have died in recent years while either trying to defuse unexploded ordinance or when coming into contact with it unintentionally.".  That seems like something best done remotely or with robots.
