Yes, I am still in very infrequent lurker status here for a few more weeks, but DP was a kind fellow with an unbelievable museum, the White Oak Museum in Falmouth, VA.  I hope most of you have been there or make time to see it for as long as it is open.

We talked about specific bullet types and he'd pull out records and say something like, "We only found Lindner carbine bullets in the 1st Michigan camp."  What a trove of freely shared information!  He was very generous with his time and some of his displays of burst shells inspired me to copy the way he had them.  Then there were all the plates and Shalers and....

I can safely say there will not be another contributor to our hobby like DP.

The museum is incredible and words don't describe it.  PipeDreamer65's article had some great images though they only give you a taste of all there is to see.  Quite a legacy for DP to leave behind.  Everyone should see it.

D. P. was a good one and his museum was a fantastic one!! I was always amazed at the sheer number of artifacts he had displayed in his museum! He was always  willing to share his knowledge and information! Rest in peace D. P.

Very sad.  DP was one of a kind and just a heck of a nice guy.  I remember visiting him just after the museum opened with his cousin Ed Bullock.  During the first DIV on Oak Knoll farm, I dug a giant iron pot in a hut and DP thought it was cool so I gladly gave it to him for the museum and as a small payback for the knowledge and help he gave me over the years.

He will be sorely missed.
