Title: R
Post by: CarlS on August 13, 2017, 11:58:17 PM
I have a couple Brooke sabots from the Blakeley & Spanish Fort area that have a "R" stamped on the bottom.  This weekend I saw (see below) a Selma cloverleaf sabot with that same "R" on it also from there.  So I have two questions that I'm hoping this esteemed group can assist with:
1) Is it fair to say/assume shells that have this "R" stamping are from Selma?
2) Has anyone seen the same "R" stamping from any other battle or recovery site?

Milledgeville, but that material was probably brought from the Selma area.

"R" stands for Raulerson, my last name. I marked all my shells that way. Kindly return my property to me at the next show.  LOL. Kidding.

I've got Selma projectiles stamped mostly G or nothing but also have O, C, 7,3, and I can't remember now exactly and I'm in Alaska but one is stamped 27 I think.
