Detective Carl Makins, with the Charleston County bomb squad, says a lot of people don't understand how dangerous these cannonballs are.

Well, anyone should know that if you drop one upon your foot, it could be quite painful.

Too bad they try to scare people.  Nothing to be gained by that.

Would be nice if they'd open the property up to a public hunt the last two days before the dozers hit.  If they really cared about the relics a lot more would be saved that way.

I understand an archaeologist logic and training, grid, seeve, paintbrush , document..........   extremely valuable to get it just right, UNLESS you have 30 days before the bulldozer, then maybe you should use a shovel
