Post by: emike123 on August 04, 2016, 12:39:21 PM
Had a chance to get away from a conference over lunch and see this museum.  Not sure how this post from my phone will eork out, but here goes:

Mike, it's a great little museum! Too bad you're not coming 2.5 hrs. west of New Orleans, I'd treat you to dinner in Lafayette, LA. Try to stay cool there, enjoy the food and the city, and enjoy your conference.

Hey Mike
catching-up on what I've missed. The Confederate Memorial Hall is fantastic collection. I urge everyone to see
it while they can.

My GG Uncle was in Hillard's...artillery! Thanks for the flag pic

What a great museum!  I visited before Katrina and after...some of the collection had been moved out.  I ID'ed a couple of items in my collection during the first visit (part of a naval cutlass and a fake gold dollar watch chain).  I especially loved the war logs.  I am going back down there in a few weeks- I'll slip away from eating and imbibing with my crowd for a couple of hours and stop in again.
