Title: Zinc Fuses

Anyone have suggestions on how to preserve zinc fuses?  They seem to corrode easily.  Thanks.

I mix a soup of water and elmers glue and smear it with q-tips or artist brush on zinc and pewter, dries clear, gets hard and looks fine
