Hi all, once again, I turn to you for help in identification of this coat size brass coat size button. It has a six point star with no inscription or benchmark. Anybody have any idea if this is Civil War era or what or where it was used? See Attached two pictures. Thanks Rudy Shultz

well, I guess nobody here knows much about it. I am not a button collector, but it looks like a 'flower button' civilian type to me. I have not seen it before .....

I agree with Dave. It doesn't appear to be a military button. Civilian buttons are not rare on Civil War sites; they were used on some Confederate uniforms and also as replacements for lost uniform buttons.

I also agree. If it was military, there would be a picture of it somewhere, and all the research I have done has come up with nothing. I was told it was dug in Texas, San Antonio area, and it looks to be dug. As for age, your guess is as good as mine. Thank you for you comments.
