I have what I assume is a pistol bullet, but it does not seem to match with any of the references I have.

It appears to have been fired, possibly from a 5 groove barrel (although I cannot count the grooves accurately, may be more than 5).  Diameter is about 0.425 (as usual, varies somewhat because of slight damage), overall length is now about 0.505.  MAY have had a very thin lube groove, cannot be sure.  Flat or very slightly convex base.

Slides right down the barrel of my .44 Colt, way too big for a .36. 

Said to have been found in SW Tennessee near the Alabama border.

Any help will be appreciated.
