MM-349/RBTRF IV 329/330 and MM-354
« on: March 04, 2012, 04:02:04 PM »
On the French origin triangular base minie I haven't paid that much attention to the cavity sizes in the 577 caliber bullets. RBTRF IV states two different sizes for the 577. I know the 69 caliber triangular bases come in a wide variety of triangular sizes and depths. Can some of you collectors post the different size cavities in the MM-349 you may have?

MM-354 machined grooved bullet. The MM list this bullet as having a 3 cavity. Have any of yall seen, dug, or have in your collection this bullet with a 3 cavity.

Hey Michael...I logged in to register 3 new members (welcome new folks!) and saw this post.  I have one of the MM354s with a truncated cone cavity.  I got it from Terry during one of my visits.  He said it was dug at his place so maybe he has found another one (or you can when we visit him!).  I know I was excited to get it because this variation is a tough one to find and had been on my want list for a long time.  I examined hundreds of regular machine grooves before finding it.

Talk soon

Ran Hunley @ Sgt. Riker's had a bunch of these amongst his bullets last year.  I bought a few.  I'm sure he still has some.

Thanks for the info. I will try to locate one through either Terry or Ran.
