Title: Bullet identification
Post by: SGTRAD13 on March 09, 2020, 06:09:50 AM
I found what I “think” is a fired French dragoon bullet. The base is collapsed from either being fired or being smashed. I can make out a triangular base. The sides have what looks like rifling. Would this be correct for a dragoon or another triangle based bullet? Or perhaps this is from it striking something or being smashed?

Yeah we are moving so it’s packed up. Would a dragoon be rifled? I haven’t been able to find anything in the type of firearm that used that bullet.

I’ll post a better pic once we get moved.

Yes, it was intended to be used in a rifled musket.

Thanks for the information. Would there have been any specific units that would have this type of bullet?
