All the boxes are packed for Richmond, and things are otherwise slow in the accumulations dept. in anticipation of the big show in 12 days. But we never rest in our pursuit of Civil War stuff so here are a few things that have walked in the door in the past couple weeks:
>> 2 large silver spoons marked "9th Artillery" on the back and "J.P. Holden" on the front. This guy was an enlisted man in a New York artillery unit and the spoons were made in Ithaca, NY.
>> A hard to find portfire cutter with arsenal stamps. On the reverse is "NJ" so I am guessing issued to a pre-war militia unit.
>> Spanner wrench that fits the holes on a CS copper adapter perfectly. It also fits some Parrott fuses which my guess is instead what it went to. It came with the portfire cutter and is a little twisted from use.
