ART 1.   U.S. 2.6″ James Bolt for Wiard Rifle.

Does anyone know the origin of this one? I don't know if Nick is a member here.

Scott, what do you mean ' origin of this one "  ??             Nick probably is not a member on the forums. He's got an active business selling relics and has a frame shop, plus two kids and all life's other diversions. Great guy, fun to be around and comes up with some good stuff.
How's Baghdad ??  Hotter than here in the south ??!!   Any new mortar attacks lately ??

Nick got that bolt, and the rifled 12pdr James projectile two below it on the page, out of Dr. Lawrence Pawl's collection when Dr. Pawl decided to sell his artillery projectiles.  At the time, Dr. Pawl had the most complete collection of James projectile types.

There are not many of these around.  I know of only three others in collections and this one is among the nicest.  I am not aware of any battlefield use.

Thanks, Mike. I had a suspicion that was so when I saw the other James on his site. I didn't know your last statement, though.

Dave, keep up! I left Baghdad yesterday, now in Bishkek. Sheese.
