I've seen a few Massachusetts medals made with cannon from Fort Fisher.  Not sure which Fort Fisher though, the one in NC or the other in Virginia.  No Mass troops fought at the NC battle.

The British Victoria Cross is made from the bronze of Russian cannon captured at the site of the Charge of the Light Brigade.

Actually the metal for the VC is supposedly  made from cannons captured from the Russians at the siege of Sevastopol (1854-1855) in the Crimea.  The charge of the Light Brigade was a failed charge, that did not result in any captured artillery.  It is believed that the artillery used the the medal were Chinese purchased by the Russians.

I stand corrected, I couldn't spell Sevastopol and I was too lazy to look it up. The block of Bronze that they  have remaining appears to be about 6 square inches and is kept in the vault of the company who has made the medals since they were originally designed.
