Same to you Alan. Thanks for the well wishes.  4 weeks until Christmas.  Wonder what Carl is going to get me this year?

Speaking of which, he did a really nice job cleaning this shell for me.  It is the exact shell shown on page 421 of Jack Bell's heavy ordnance book, a re-sabotted 6.4in Read turned into a Tennessee sabotted shell.  It had been languishing in a museum and I was able to buy its freedom, then got Carl to clean it up.  If you look at the picture in the book, you'll see that he truly "transformed" it, but there was no restoration only electrolysis and cleaning.  Way to go Carl!

Alwion: Best of holidays to you as well.

Mike:  Glad you like it.  It was a pleasure to work on such a cool relic.
Best,
Carl

A professional job Carl.  Smithsonian Museum NO. 2 is about to open! :)
Mike this one is worth a base shot.

John, glad you approve.  The base still looks exactly as it is shown on page 421 of Jack Bell's book referenced above.

But not as good as your photos.
BTW the searcdh for my medical problem has ended.  I have Chronic Leukemia type CML.  It is controlled but not cureable, at least not yet.  My main symptom was anemia.  But I am back out of the hospital for the third time since June.
Does anyone have a copy of Lynall Thomas patent ?
Best Regards,
John
