Need to ID this canister

  A friend of mine picked this canister recently and is trying to ID it. Looks to be around 3". Top plate and balls missing.

Its a post American Civil War Krupp.

Thanks Mike. We were pretty sure it was post war because of the 2 piece body and the ridge at the joint. What gun would it have been fired from ? Indian wars?

I saw some of these used in the Ottoman-Russian Wars in the 1870s. Russia bought a lot of Krupp guns, as well as American Gatlings. Some of those are beautifully preserved in museums in Bulgaria.
